DAvid PEarson CAreer

After starting in the Film & TV industry at the BBC in the editing department, becoming an film editor David began directing, producing, Executive Producing and screenwriting.  He has worked for the BBC, C4, ITV, Sky, MBS, & ZDF.

 

He has many awards for his work, including two BAFTA Nominations, an Emmy Nomination and has won several RTS Awards, together with those from  Grierson, FIPA, Prix Nikki Awards etc.

David has been writing for films and TV for many years, fiction and non-fiction, but he also writes articles and industry reports. Here's a recent one.

He is due to direct The Lock Inn, a cinema thriller, which he wrote the screenplay for, once the Covid-19 pandemic ends.  For more details on the film (AKA "Brother Of All Battles") click here.

David has lectured in film & TV and held a post at the University Of Reading and UWE before that. He is currently the External Assessor for the NFTS MA in screenwriting.

​

He was the founder and Director of the influential Screenwriters' Festival and programed its four editions and training.
